Ogie Mendoza has
been involved in tango for more than a decade now.
He established the Manila
Tango Club, the first duly incorporated tango club in
Asia in 1999 where he
serves as founding president.
He worked closely with
the Argentinean Embassy concerning the promotion of
Argenine tango in the
Philippines.He organized 3 big tango events
TANGO ARGENTINO in
1996 VIVA EL TANGO in 1999 and TANGO EXPLOSION in 2000.
Pablo Inza and Gladys
Fernandez were the main performers for TANGO ARGENTINO.
While RICARDO GALLO
and again GLADYS FERNANDEZ starred in the last two shows.
He is a Foreign Service
graduate of a prestigious university in Manila and has
a very good command of
the English language.
He has travelled to
Buenos Aires twice in 1999 and 2000 to further his skill,
knowledge and ability
on Argentine tango.
He now teaches
around Southeast Asia specifically, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala
Lumpur,
Manila, Bali, Jakarta and recently
Dubai. Offers to teach in other key cities such as Ho Chi Minh,
Shanghai and Bangkok
are in the offing.
